Father Time Study

A carefully modeled face and folded head covering give Father Time Study the gravity of a timeless portrait. In the figure’s arms, Randy Gaul places a furry creature whose identity remains uncertain. For the artist, it embodies the animal drives that all humans possess, impulses capable of directing our lives when left unchecked. The portrait’s stillness gains another dimension through this companion, bringing restraint and instinct into the same intimate encounter.
