Landscape 2 is one of Randy Gaul’s small studies for an imaginary, childlike place ruled by nature. Here, the forest’s weight and texture make the opening especially compelling. The viewer follows that slender route into shadow, encountering a setting that offers the wonder of a storybook landscape without revealing what waits beyond the next bend.
