Time Table began when Randy Gaul encountered buckets of shining metal shavings in a fabrication shop and received permission to salvage what he needed. He later learned that the massive stainless steel gears being made there belonged to the Long Now clock project. The table combines those shavings with reclaimed oak wine tanks and recycled, sandblasted steel. Its broad circular top and grounded sculptural base bring these materials into everyday use, carrying a story of chance discovery, reuse, and an unexpected connection to a project concerned with the long passage of time.
