A small, single-eyed creature hovers among large woven forms in a landscape of muted browns and distant light. Randy Gaul describes the being as an evolved presence seeking truth, its eye central to a newly awakened understanding of what is and what might be. The quiet atmosphere leaves that transformation room to register. This archival print is the first artist’s proof, made as a test for a limited edition of 50, giving this particular impression a distinct place at the beginning of the print’s development.
