Loobie stands against a clear ground, presenting a rounded object in each hand with the confidence of a cheerful host. This wobbly, two-eyed, character study inspired the exuberant landscape of Loobie’s Garden. The careful shading gives his improbable proportions weight, while the balanced pose and pointed shoes help establish a playful personality. Seen alongside the garden, the study offers a close encounter with its inhabitant before he disappears into a world of bright structures, winding paths, and hidden friends.
