A luminous dome crowns a textured cylinder made from leftover PVC pipe. Randy Gaul built the dome through multiple layers of acrylic resin, controlling the temperature as the final clear pour cured to leave sparkling tears along its edge. Those details give Weeping Dome its name and reward an intimate view of the surface. Warm light brings the layered construction into focus, transforming discarded plumbing material into a sculptural presence whose most delicate features emerge from the process of its making.
