With unruly hair, an eye patch, a pinstriped suit, and a skateboard resting beside him, The Skater looks ready to step into a story. Randy Gaul combines skate culture with a street-savvy soul in search of cultural energy. The elongated silhouette and sideways grin offer a carefree first impression, but the artist cautions that appearances can conceal what this rider is seeking. The board remains still, giving the character’s personality and underlying purpose time to take center stage.
