Signs And Wonders

Two figures occupy a luminous blue space near a small, concentrated fire. Their bodies seem suspended between recognizable movement and the instability of the painted surface. Ceballos combines the ordinary scale of human presence with an atmosphere that feels difficult to explain. The title makes room for both recognition and mystery. A flame, a gesture and a wash of color become possible clues, yet the painting leaves their relationship open rather than supplying a single conclusion.
