Hundred Acre Wood 17 Christopher Robin Reads the Odyssey of Homer to All His Dear Friends

An open, curving white passage moves through a field of green-toned map fragments, delicate lines and small patterned details. The title brings the friends of the Hundred Acre Wood into contact with another kind of journey: Homer’s Odyssey. Smith lets that meeting remain imaginative rather than literal. There are no illustrated heroes to follow, only routes, interruptions and spaces to explore. The work connects the intimacy of a shared story with the much larger distances a story can carry us.
