Holiday House began with a conversation between Randy Gaul and 111 Minna owner Michelle Delaney about combining Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas in one sculpture. The gallery’s iconic red door was the essential requirement. Around it, Gaul assembled a roasting turkey above a cast iron pot, pumpkins, ornaments, a working holiday distillery, and a blood-filled moat. A raven carries Santa’s bones atop the house, while Blitzen’s skull decorates the front dormer. The result is a richly detailed holiday collision that rewards looking beyond the welcoming facade. The materials all came from the woods near his house.
