PL47

Brown, blue and green forms rise from a pale ground, threaded by fine white lines and balanced against a luminous circle. Bell identifies PL47 with Planet Life, a series inspired by the natural world’s forms and colors. The painting allows those sources to remain suggestive rather than descriptive. Its shapes might recall branches, stones or an imagined landscape, but their relationships are what hold the composition together: weight against lightness, broad planes against wandering paths.
