11 Minna Gallery Presents
AMANDALYNN + LADY MAGS
Opening Reception: Friday, JULY 12th, 2019 | 5-11pm
Through August 29th
Alynn-Mags are very proud to present ‘Lullaby’, a fine art exhibit, debuting at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco, CA, opening Friday, July 12th, 2019. By definition, the word Lullaby refers to a soothing song or piece of music that is played for children. Lullabies are also often used to develop communication skills and emotional intent. Amandalynn was inspired by a beautiful Lullaby written by her friend, Phyllis Whitney and sung by the very talented Venetia P. The simple yet meaningful words and melody of this particular Lullaby evoke an emotion of peace and connectedness to everyone. For Amandalynn, that is something that she also hopes to achieve with her new series of work for this exhibition. She shared this Lullaby with Lady Mags, and together the duo has been dreaming up a visual display of artwork intended to inspire and ease the viewer, just as the perfect Lullaby can soothe one’s inner child.
Together, Amanda Lynn and Lady Mags are known as Alynn-Mags, a street mural and fine art team. Both artists are Bay Area residents, and together they have over two decades of painting experience. Alynn-Mags has been immediately recognized for their large-scale spray paint and acrylic brush paint mural combinations. In their fine art collaborations, the duo also merges different mediums and techniques to create their pieces. Lady Mags often works with abstract watercolor imagery, which Amandalynn incorporates into her detailed illustrations. The symbiotic friendship between these two women shines through in their collaborative works, each element supporting the other in their final compositions.
Amandalynn is a San Francisco based Muralist, Fine Artist, and Art Director. Inspired by the female form and spirit, Amandalynn depicts strong, enchanting women, and illustrates their mystery through color and line work, often supporting them with depictions of natural elements. Her works can be found in Galleries and Streets all over the world. Amandalynn believes that sharing the creative process with others is the key to living an inspired life.
Lady Mags has been a graffiti writer since 2006, when she started painting tracksides in Chicago. She has travelled extensively, painting graffiti and large scale murals in many of her destinations. Lady Mags began showing fine art in galleries across the United States in more recent years. She also received a PhD in International Comparative Education from Stanford University.
