Weeklong event opens Thursday, June 26, with live art, music, storytelling, and more…

International ocean nonprofit PangeaSeed is bringing its globally recognized art-for-advocacy mission to the Bay Area with Rising Tides, a weeklong art fundraiser and exhibition hosted at 111 Minna Gallery from June 26 to July 2, 2025. The public is invited to attend the main opening night celebration on Thursday, June 26, from 5–10 PM, an inspiring evening of art, music, storytelling, and community to make waves for the ocean.

Rising Tides comes at a turning point for PangeaSeed, following a year of both organizational and personal challenges, including Founder and Executive Director Tré Packard’s ongoing recovery from stage 3 cancer. The fundraiser will raise essential funds to support PangeaSeed’s programs and operations, which harness the power of art to advance ocean literacy, inspire action, and transform environmental science into accessible, community-driven solutions.

“Rising Tides is a love letter to the ocean and to the power of creativity,” says Tré Packard, Founder and Executive Director of PangeaSeed. “Facing and healing from cancer has given me a renewed sense of clarity and purpose, not just in life but in our mission. Science gives us the facts, but art moves the heart. It is through creativity that we can reach people on an emotional level and build the kind of connection to the ocean that inspires real, lasting change. Rising Tides is a celebration of that potential and a reminder of what is possible when art, community, and purpose come together.”

Opening night will transform 111 Minna into a vibrant hub of art and advocacy. Guests will experience a curated showcase of Printed Oceans fine art prints alongside original works, with exclusive print releases and live signings by acclaimed Bay Area artists Hueman, Jet Martinez, Amandalynn, and Taylor Reinhold. The evening will also feature live painting, a sketch event, short film screenings, and a panel discussion exploring the intersection of art and activism. Moving testimonials and a curated silent auction will offer guests a deeper look at the impact of PangeaSeed’s work and how their support can help sustain it.

The gallery bar will be open, and the event is free and open to the public, with several ways to donate on-site or online.

PangeaSeed’s roots in San Francisco run deep: 14 years ago, the city hosted the organization’s first-ever U.S. exhibition. Since then, PangeaSeed has grown into an internationally recognized nonprofit, producing large-scale public art projects across the globe, including Sea Walls Santa Cruz (2021) and Sea Walls Emeryville (2022). Rising Tides marks a meaningful return to where it all began, celebrating over a decade of global impact and creative activism.

PangeaSeed gratefully acknowledges 111 Minna Gallery, who have generously donated their space to make this event possible.
