HERE COMES THE HOWELLMAN | Opening Show

For their October exhibition 111 Minna Gallery will be showcasing two powerhouses in the art world, Jay Howell and Attaboy. Jay Howell will be displaying his solo exhibition ‘Here Comes the Howellman’ in 111 Minna’s 2nd Street Gallery. Attaboy will be displaying his solo exhibition ‘Portal’ in 111 Minna’s Zappa Gallery. This will be the first time former 111 Minna Curator (2007-2012) Jay Howell has exhibited in San Francisco since his solo exhibition ‘Pages From Books’ at Fecal Face in 2012. This will be the first solo exhibition Hi Fructose magazine co-founder Attaboy has displayed at 111 Minna Gallery.

Jay Howell is a Los Angeles based illustrator, artist and cartoonist who lives with his dog, Street Dog.
Exposed to Punk music and Skateboard culture at an early age. Howell immediately identified with their shared DIY ethos, inspiring him to self-publish his own zines, cartoons, animations and skateboard graphics. Best known for his work as the character designer for Fox’s hit show “Bob’s Burgers”. Howell is also known for his success as the co-creator, art director and executive producer of “Sanjay And Craig”; an animated children’s show for Nickelodeon. Howell’s unique line-style, eccentric characters, carefree wit and no-permissions-asked artistic approach has been exhibited around the world and garnered collaboration with brands such as Vans, Gucci and Playboy.
