With more than 18 years at HBA\, she has played a pivotal role in expanding the firm’s presence and influence throughout the Americas. Meghann brings a unique blend of design expertise and business acumen\, backed by a degree in Interior Design and Business Administration from Kansas State University and a global portfolio of high-profile hotel and resort projects. Her leadership is instrumental in guiding the senior team into a new era of growth and innovation. A passionate traveler and lifelong learner\, Meghann’s international experiences continue to shape her strong sense of design and style. \n  \n \n  \nPANELISTS\nMichelle Delaney has been a driving force in San Francisco’s art and leisure scene for decades\, helping to shape the city’s creative landscape through her work at 111 Minna Gallery and beyond. She arrived in San Francisco in 2000 as a Motion Picture and Television student at the Academy of Art. She has since become an integral part of the local creative community\, working her way up from bartender to Managing Partner at 111 Minna\, where she has cultivated a dynamic space that supports artists\, musicians\, and community-driven events. A champion of what she and local artists have coined “urban contemporary” art\, Delaney’s work provides a platform for creatives to thrive. Her curatorial vision is deeply informed by her own creative background\, including her time as a founding member of the all-female punk band The Departed. Beyond the gallery\, Delaney actively supports artists citywide through her work with the Presidio Theatre and serves on the Yerba Buena Marketing Committee\, SF Travel Marketing Committee\, Chamber of Commerce\, and Police Advisory Council. \n  \n \n  \nJD Beltran is the Founder and Director of the Center for Creative Sustainability in San Francisco\, a consultancy forging innovative collaborations and creative solutions to support artists and the arts economy. SUMMARY:SKATE | A Group Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:For our April exhibition\, 111 Minna Gallery will be showcasing SKATE in both our 2nd Street and Zappa Galleries. \nIrene Emma Hernandez-Feiks is beyond honored and thrilled to curate SKATE\, an electrifying exhibition at 111 Minna Gallery. This groundbreaking show is a love letter to skate culture\, the Bay Area\, and the incredible community that 111 Minna has fostered for decades. With nearly 300 artists and over 400 skate decks\, this exhibit is set to be nothing short of mind-blowing.\n\nA Cultural Powerhouse \nThe Bay Area has long been a breeding ground for creativity\, rebellion\, and artistic innovation—especially within the skateboarding world. SKATE is more than just an exhibition; it’s a tribute to the rich history of skateboarding in San Francisco and beyond. 111 Minna\, a legendary space for artists and creatives\, is the perfect venue for this monumental event. This show doesn’t just showcase art—it celebrates a movement\, a lifestyle\, and a community that has shaped the creative world in ways both seen and unseen. \n⸻ \nAn Unparalleled Roster of Artists \nThe exhibition features an incredible lineup\, primarily composed of Bay Area artists\, alongside select LA-based artists who launched their careers in San Francisco and maintain deep ties to the city. Additionally\, Irene has curated works from international artists who have either lived in the Bay or share a profound connection to its creative scene. These artists\, ranging from established legends to rising stars\, bring their own unique voices and styles—making SKATE a dynamic and thrilling experience. \n⸻ \nA Fusion of Art & Skateboarding \nExpect over 400 skate decks\, each transformed into stunning\, thought-provoking works of art. Many decks will be painted\, while others will take on sculptural forms—challenging traditional concepts of what a skateboard can be. Artists have been encouraged to push boundaries\, think outside the box\, and create pieces that are as unexpected as they are beautiful. This show is a testament to the limitless creativity that skate culture inspires. \n⸻ \nMore Than an Exhibition—A Movement \nIrene’s commitment to artists goes far beyond curating events. She has been a fierce advocate for artist rights\, exposure\, collaboration\, and financial independence—ensuring that creatives have the opportunities they deserve. SKATE embodies this mission: it’s about how art can change lives\, how it inspires\, and how it brings people together. \n⸻ \nA Tribute to the Bay Area’s Skate Legacy \nWhat makes this show truly special is its deep-rooted connection to San Francisco’s legendary skate scene. The city has long been a global epicenter for skateboarding\, with its hills\, streets\, and iconic spots serving as both playground and canvas. SKATE is an homage to that culture and the tight-knit community that surrounds it. Some of the featured artists are now world-renowned figures in the art world. Others are just beginning their journey—and creating a platform for emerging talent is one of the most important aspects of this exhibition. \n⸻ \nArt That Unites & Inspires \nArt has the power to bring people together\, to empower\, and to inspire. SKATE is about making art accessible to all—celebrating the creativity\, energy\, and resilience of a culture that has influenced so many lives. Whether you’re a skater\, an art lover\, or someone who simply appreciates bold creativity\, this show is a must-see. \n⸻ \n“We’re bringing the Bay Area and SF together for a high-energy celebration of art\, music\, and community—rooted in skate culture and the creative pulse of the city. \nExpect spectacular live art\, next-level music\, and incredible food\, plus surprises that’ll keep you hyped all night. \nOver 400 skateboards transformed into stunning works of art—painted\, sculpted\, and reimagined into something truly beautiful. These one-of-a-kind pieces will be available for purchase\, giving you the chance to own a part of this electrifying event while directly supporting the artists. \nThis isn’t just an event; it’s a full-on experience where street culture\, talent\, and community collide. \nPull up\, show love\, and be part of something real.” \n⸻ \nAbout the Curator \nIrene Emma Hernandez-Feiks\, a driving force in the San Francisco art and fashion scene\, has dedicated her career to uplifting artists\, designers\, and creatives.
