Celebrating Latinx in Gaming 2019

Xbox celebrates diversity and recognizes the impact of the Latinx community in the gaming industry. Come share your story during the Game Developer’s Conference with other Latinx and Latin American professionals of the gaming industry in this fun-filled and enlightening event. Join us to connect & network with other game creators, developers, writers, artists, and more.

Please note Minna Gallery is a 21+ only venue.


Xbox will present a career development grant to three (3) people who identify as Latinx and/or of Latin American descent. Ideal candidates are already involved in the industry in some way (e.g., University student pursuing a career in the gaming industry; Currently working developers, artists, designers, or other roles at solo or indie studios; budding games journalists, bloggers, or streamers.) but are not yet fully connected to the networks and resources needed to fully break through. Preference will be given to applicants who do not work at a AAA studio and have not previously worked at one as a full-time employee for more than one year.

Winners will receive:

  • a pass to attend the Game Developers Conference + Summit in San Francisco, California
  • a ticket to the Celebrating Latinx in Gaming event on Wednesday, March 20
  • a private coffee meet-and-greet with a senior Xbox executive

Costs for travel, expenses, and accommodations are not included as part of the grant. Selected winners will need to arrange their own travel and accommodation to San Francisco.
